INTERIOR DESIGN: RESIDENTIAL
CONCEPT STATEMENT
The intent of this project is to maximize the floor plan, allow for place of separation andmaximize natural lighting within the space. Providing two points of entry, street facing andanother for easy access to parking. Spatial organized to allow for spacing between twobedrooms and kitchen away from living space to avoid traveling of noise. Qualities oftransitions utilizing skylights and as many south facing windows where possible to maximizenatural lighting, and doors between spaces to allow separation and privacy. Physical propertiesinclude higher ceilings and larger living spaces with natural lighting and smaller sleeping spaceto allow for coziness with ambient lighting. Rugs and runners to absorb sound between tenantsand neighbours below. Preservation of historic architecture, natural brick and moldings with acombination of contemporary and vintage furnishing.

SPACE NEEDS
Old white oak flooring, original brick, high ceilings. Lots of natural light for plants and mood. Light dimmers. Bedroom sizes enough to fit queen size beds and dresser. Furniture that will be moving with them is a few vintage mid-century chairs and tables but the rest needs to be new. Framed art and posters. Built in structure needed to organize smaller belongings and memorabilia. Families that will visit from out of town. Two cats. Two working desks and monitors. Two televisions. Large dining table and space needed for entertaining. Small grill and need for outdoor space. Idea room adjacencies would be on opposite sides of the home for seclusion. Doors to separate the different spaces. Room for office space. Within city and walking distance to restaurants, parks and shops. Parking.
